DoD  (Department  of  Defense)  Secure  Enclave

The  United  States Department of Defense  (DoD) is implementing new information security standards for research contracted to third parties.  As  described  in  the  Defense Federal  Acquisition  Regulation  Supplement  (DFARS),  research  utilizing or developing Controlled Defense  Information  (CDI) is subject to the standards outlined by the  National Institute of Standards and Technology  Special  Publication  800-171  (NIST  SP  800-171).

Seamless  has the expertise to comply with these standards for contracts with the DFARS  standards.  We consult with these organizations to ensure compliance and prepare for likely, even broader regulations   regarding the safeguarding of  Controlled  Unclassified  Information  (CUI).

Seamless is  one of the only providers able to implement a Secure  Computing Enclave that meets the security standards established by the  Research  Security  Office  (RSO).

A  Secure  Computing  Enclave  includes  the  following  core  design  principles:

  • Security:  SCE traffic should be segmented and secured to safeguard information related to federal research according to government standards.
  • Agility:  The  SCE architecture should be agile enough to adapt  to the fluid nature of changing organizational  and regulatory requirements.
  • Performance: Computing resources should be appropriate for researcher requirements and add additional functionality if possible,  while still being operable by minimal staff.
  • Availability: Computing resources should be selected and maintained in a manner that will create high  levels of availability to  better assist researchers in conducting their work.

NaaS  (Networking  as  a  Service)

Seamless also offers Networking as a Service  (Naas), which affords companies greater flexibility and even performance gains in their network infrastructure.  NaaS provides a  solution for companies seeking to operate and managing their networks and run  IT  more efficiently through an on-demand provisioning model.

With our on-demand purchasing, companies can be more cost-conscious and pay only for the networking services they need.  Seamless’s NaaS can also  help companies that want greater flexibility in provisioning without  having  to rearchitect networks or  redo contracts from the ground up.  NaaS offers Return on Investment  (“ROI”),  enabling clients to trade Capex for Opex and refocus personnel’s time and effort on other  priorities.

As well, Seamless offers additional tools that enable proof of compliance and standards performance to secure  a client’s business and its data.  The  following  is  an  overview  of  the  standards applicable  to  its  NOC:

  • VDI  –  Virtual  Desktops
